Maple Tree Varieties

it is easy to think of Maple trees as being similar, and we often think of the Japanese Maples. However many Maple or Acer varoeties are available for sale ans many make useful garden plants.

Although they are related the Japanese Maple Trees (Acer Palmatum) is only one of the species that are so popular as ornamental trees and widely used in landscaping.

Specialist nurseries grow a wide range of Acer varieties and what we often call 'maple trees' are available for sale year round however they are best planted in late winter or early autumn when the soil is still warm.

Used widely as feature trees and as small shade trees Maple trees are deciduous and often provide fantastic autumn colour ranging from golden yellow through to crimson and deep red depending on species and cultivar.
